Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Ethernet Engineer to drive the design and development of Automotive Ethernet software for Linux and Android-based IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in embedded networking, Automotive Ethernet protocols, and Linux networking stack, along with strong technical leadership capabilities.

The role involves architecting networking solutions, developing high-performance Ethernet software, debugging complex networking issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready automotive solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain Automotive Ethernet software for Linux and Android IVI platforms.

- Lead networking architecture, feature development, and system integration activities for embedded automotive systems.

- Develop and optimize Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking components, Ethernet drivers, and switch configurations.

- Implement and optimize networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, VLAN, SOME/IP, IPv4, and IPv6.

- Debug and troubleshoot complex networking issues using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and packet analyzers.

- Work closely with BSP, Hardware, Middleware, System Integration, and Validation teams to ensure seamless software integration.

- Participate in architecture discussions and drive technical design decisions for networking solutions.

- Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and promote engineering best practices.

- Ensure compliance with Automotive Ethernet, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), and industry standards.

- Support system performance optimization, reliability improvements, and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.

- 12- 15 years of software development experience, including significant experience in embedded networking or Automotive Ethernet.

- Strong programming expertise in C/C++ (Java knowledge is an added advantage).

- Hands-on experience with Linux, Android AOSP, and Automotive IVI platforms.

- Strong understanding of :

1. TCP/IP

2. UDP

3. SOME/IP

4. VLAN

5. Layer 2 Bridging

6. Layer 3 Routing

7. IPv4/IPv6

- Experience with Automotive Ethernet technologies including :

1. 100BASE-T1 / 1000BASE-T1

2. RGMII

3. SGMII

4. PCIe

5. SERDES

6. Ethernet Switch Development

- Expertise in networking analysis and debugging using Wireshark, tcpdump, and packet capture tools.

- Strong knowledge of AVB/TSN standards including :

1. IEEE 802.1AS

2. IEEE 1722

3. IEEE 802.1Qav

4. IEEE 802.1Qat

- Familiarity with Open Alliance TC8, Open AVNU, and Media Clock Recovery technologies.

- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, communication, and technical leadership skills.
