Role Overview :

We are looking for a Lead Engineer - Java to drive backend engineering excellence, lead a team of developers, and build scalable, high-performance systems. This role requires a strong balance of hands-on coding, system design, leadership, and customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a team of backend/full-stack engineers

- Act as the technical anchor and drive architecture decisions

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java

- Work on performance optimization, security, and reliability of applications

- Collaborate with product, QA, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software

- Own customer communication, requirements understanding, and handle escalations

- Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure clean architecture

- Drive adoption of modern technologies, AI tools, and coding assistants

- Contribute to release planning, sprint execution, and SDLC processes

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7-12 years of experience in Java backend development

- Strong expertise in Core Java, OOPs, design patterns, and system design

- Hands-on experience with frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring MVC, or similar

- Strong understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture

- Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL)

- Solid knowledge of software engineering practices, version control, and CI/CD

- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

AI & Modern Engineering (Must-Have) :

- Hands-on experience with AI tools, LLMs, or coding assistants (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT)

- Ability to write effective prompts and validate AI-generated output

- Understanding of AI limitations, hallucinations, and bias handling
