Position Summary :

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to lead a multidisciplinary team comprising data scientists, Data engineers and Data Analysts within our Digital Solutions team.

This is a product-focused role, working primarily on internal projects to design, build, and deploy AI-powered tools and automation products that advance operational efficiency across Hitech.

This role will take POC-validated AI and automation initiatives from Innovation Labs into full-scale development, deployment, and adoption. The primary focus will be on Natural Language Processing (NLP) projects to deliver intelligent document processing, summarization, semantic search, and information extraction capabilities.

In addition to NLP, the role will also oversee object detection and computer vision projects, and experience with architectural plans, CAD drawings, maps, and chart-based data-along with familiarity in CAD APIs-will be considered a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities :

AI Product Development & Delivery :

- Take validated POC concepts from Innovation Labs into full-scale product development

- Prioritize NLP-driven applications (DocIntel and similar document intelligence tools) while also leading computer vision and automation projects

- Ensure products are built for scalability, maintainability, and long-term adoption

Internal-First Product Focus :

- Design and develop AI tools specifically to improve Hitech's internal workflows, productivity, and delivery efficiency

- Work with business teams to identify automation and intelligence opportunities within operations

- Evaluate products post-implementation for efficiency gains and scalability potential

Potential for Market Release :

- Collaborate with business leaders to assess when internal tools are ready for external commercialization

- Prepare products for client-facing deployment, including scalability, documentation, and integration readiness

Technical Execution :

- Implement and fine-tune NLP models for document parsing, extraction, summarization, and semantic search

- Lead object detection initiatives for images, videos, and document layouts

- (Advantage) Apply AI to interpret architectural plans, CAD drawings, maps, and technical charts, leveraging CAD APIs where applicable

Qualifications & Skills :

Education & Experience :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field

- 10+ years in technology roles, with at least 4-5 years in AI/ML and automation leadership

- Proven track record in NLP-based solutions (text extraction, summarization, classification, semantic search)

- Experience in computer vision and object detection projects

- (Advantage) Exposure to CAD drawings, architectural plans, maps, chart-based data, and CAD APIs (AutoCAD .NET API, BricsCAD, OpenCascade, DXF scripting)

- Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams

Technical Competencies :

- Strong skills in Python, SQL, and AI/ML frameworks (Transformers, BERT, spaCy, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI APIs, LangChain etc.)

- Familiarity with workflow automation and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

- Solid understanding of API integrations, scalable architecture, and CI/CD pipelines
