Lead Architect - Java/Python

Domain : Fintech Payments, Cards, Issuing & Acquiring Systems

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Architect with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Python, design patterns, database architecture, AWS cloud, combined with deep domain knowledge in the Payments & Cards ecosystem. The role will be responsible for defining scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures for mission-critical fin-tech systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the end-to-end architecture for high-volume payment and card systems.

- Create architecture blueprints, integration patterns, API standards, and reference designs.

- Provide hands-on guidance in Java (Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring MVC) and Python components.

- Apply modern design patterns, system patterns (CQRS, DDD), and architectural frameworks.

- Architect databases for large-scale transactional platformsMySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.

- Architect cloud-native services using AWS components (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch / Loki, API Gateway).

- Architect solutions aligned with ISO 8583, EMV, tokenization, 3DS, and scheme mandates.

- Oversee integrations with VISA, Mastercard, RuPay, NPCI, banking partners, and processors.

- Work closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Operations teams.

- Lead architecture reviews, solution walkthroughs, and engineering design sessions.

- Maintain strong knowledge of emerging fintech, API, and card scheme trends.

Requirements :

- 15+ years of backend engineering and architectural experience.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Java (Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring MVC) and Python.

- Proven experience architecting large-scale systems on AWS Cloud.

- Strong knowledge of GitLab CI/CD, pipelines, branching strategy, and release automation.

- Deep understanding of Payments, Cards, ISO 8583, EMV, and transaction switching.

- Expertise in microservices architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.

- Strong experience in database design (MySQL/PostgreSQL).

- Familiarity with caching, messaging systems, and cloud networking.

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
