Job Description

Role Overview :

As a Lead Architect for Firmware and Linux Device Drivers, you will spearhead the design and implementation of complex storage firmware for HDD and SSD platforms. You will serve as the technical authority, bridging the gap between hardware constraints and software performance to ensure seamless integration with Linux-based operating systems. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams and global stakeholders, you will drive architectural decisions that directly influence the reliability, speed, and efficiency of high-capacity storage devices used in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect robust firmware solutions for HDD and SSD platforms to ensure optimal performance and data integrity under high-load conditions.

- Design and maintain high-performance Linux device drivers to facilitate efficient communication between storage hardware and the host operating system.

- Lead technical design reviews and code audits to maintain high standards of software quality and scalability across the storage stack.

- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to troubleshoot low-level system issues and optimize firmware-to-silicon interaction.

- Mentor senior developers and junior engineers by providing technical guidance on complex storage protocols and embedded system design.

- Define long-term technical roadmaps to align firmware development with evolving industry standards and hardware advancements.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in C++ development within resource-constrained embedded environments, specifically focusing on storage firmware.

- Proven ability to architect and debug Linux device drivers, with a deep understanding of kernel-level programming and interrupt handling.

- Strong proficiency in storage protocols such as NVMe, SAS, or SATA, and their implementation in enterprise-grade hardware.

- Excellent analytical skills to decompose complex system requirements into modular, maintainable architectural designs.

- Exceptional communication abilities to articulate technical strategies to stakeholders and lead collaborative problem-solving sessions.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field, supported by 8 to 13 years of relevant industry experience.

- Ability to thrive in a high-performance, on-site environment in Bangalore, working effectively within a fast-paced product development lifecycle.
