Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced JavaCard Consultant with 5 to 15 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing secure smart card applications using Java Card technology.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java Card APIs, GlobalPlatform specifications, smart card operating systems, APDU communication, and cryptographic implementations.

The role involves developing secure applications for SIM/eSIM, UICC, Secure Elements, banking, telecom, identity management, and payment solutions while ensuring compliance with industry security standards.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java Card applications for smart cards and secure embedded platforms.

- Develop secure applets using Java Card API 2.x and 3.

- Customize and optimize Java Card applications based on business and security requirements.

- Develop reusable software components and frameworks for Java Card applications.

- Perform debugging, optimization, and performance tuning of Java Card applets.

- Work with Java Card Operating System architecture and lifecycle management.

- Understand memory management, object persistence, transactions, and applet lifecycle.

- Develop secure applications considering EEPROM, RAM, and Flash memory limitations.

- Optimize application performance for resource-constrained embedded environments.

- Implement GlobalPlatform specifications for secure application deployment.

- Perform card personalization and secure application installation.

- Manage secure channels, application loading, installation, deletion, and key management.

- Support card lifecycle management and secure application provisioning.

- Design and implement APDU command processing.

- Develop command-response interfaces for smart card communication.

- Debug APDU exchanges and optimize communication performance.

- Troubleshoot communication issues between card and terminal devices.

Smart Card Technologies :

- Develop applications for: SIM Cards, eSIM, UICC, Secure Elements, Banking Cards, Payment Cards, Identity Cards, and Access Control Systems.

- Understand ISO 7816 standards and smart card communication protocols.

- Support NFC-enabled secure element applications where applicable.

Security & Cryptography :

- Implement secure cryptographic algorithms and protocols.

- Work with: AES, DES/3DES, RSA, ECC, SHA, and HMAC.

- Implement secure key management.

- Ensure compliance with security standards and secure coding practices.

- Perform vulnerability analysis and security testing.

Embedded Software Development :

- Develop embedded software components using Java and Embedded C/C++.

- Interface Java Card applications with embedded platforms.

- Work with RTOS-based embedded environments.

- Optimize embedded software for memory and processing constraints.

- Develop unit and integration test cases.

- Perform smart card functional testing.

- Execute interoperability testing across multiple card readers and terminals.

- Conduct performance benchmarking and security validation.

- Support certification and compliance testing.

- Collaborate with hardware engineers, embedded developers, security architects, and product teams.

- Participate in architecture discussions and technical reviews.

- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

- Prepare technical documentation and deployment guides.

Required Technical Skills :

- Strong experience in Java Card Development.

- Hands-on experience with Java Card API 2.x and 3.

- Strong programming skills in Java.

- Experience in Embedded C/C++.

- Strong understanding of Smart Card Technologies.

- Expertise in APDU command processing.

- Knowledge of Java Card Operating System Architecture.

- Experience with GlobalPlatform Specifications.

- Experience with SIM, eSIM, UICC, and Secure Elements.

- Strong understanding of embedded software development.

- Knowledge of RTOS concepts.

- Experience implementing cryptographic algorithms.
