Position Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure, IT & Security Lead to become a key member of our founding infrastructure engineering team.

This is not a traditional infrastructure administration role. We are seeking someone who can architect, automate, secure, and scale enterprise-grade cloud environments while enabling rapid business growth.

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, taking ownership of infrastructure architecture, cloud security, disaster recovery, compliance, and operational excellence.

You will be responsible for designing highly available cloud platforms, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), driving automation, managing enterprise security, and supporting customer-facing technical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering :

- Design and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS.

- Architect Kubernetes-based container platforms for enterprise applications.

- Build Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Pulumi.

- Implement cloud-native architecture following security and reliability best practices.

- Automate provisioning, deployment, configuration, and infrastructure lifecycle management.

- Optimize infrastructure performance and cloud resource utilization.

2. Infrastructure Security :

- Design enterprise security architecture across cloud and hybrid environments.

Configure and manage :

i. Firewalls

ii. Load Balancers

iii. NAT Gateways

iv. Reverse Proxies

v. Virtual Networks

vi. VPNs

vii. Private Networking

- Secure air-gapped environments where required.

- Implement SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management.

- Drive Zero Trust security principles.

- Establish endpoint and server hardening standards.

3. Identity & Access Management :

- Manage enterprise IAM strategy.

Implement :

i. Azure AD / Entra ID

ii. AWS IAM

iii. SSO

iv. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

v. Identity Providers (IdP)

vi. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

- Manage privileged access and least-privilege policies.

- Administer VDI security policies.

4. High Availability & Disaster Recovery :

- Design multi-region, highly available infrastructure.

- Build resilient cloud architectures with automated failover.

- Develop and test Disaster Recovery (DR) plans.

- Manage backup strategies.

- Ensure Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) are consistently met.

- Conduct periodic DR drills and business continuity testing.

5. Monitoring & Observability :

- Implement centralized monitoring and logging.

- Build proactive alerting and incident response mechanisms.

- Configure infrastructure observability using modern monitoring platforms.

- Enable rapid Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

- Track infrastructure SLAs and operational KPIs.

6. Governance, Compliance & Risk :

- Lead infrastructure compliance initiatives including:

i. SOC 2

ii. ISO 27001

iii. Security audits

iv. Vulnerability assessments

v. Risk remediation

- Support customer compliance questionnaires.

- Maintain infrastructure governance standards.

- Ensure geo-fencing and data residency compliance where applicable.

7. Automation & DevOps :

- Automate repetitive operational activities.

- Build CI/CD infrastructure automation pipelines.

- Develop reusable Infrastructure-as-Code modules.

- Improve deployment velocity while maintaining platform reliability.

- Drive continuous operational improvements.

8. Cost Optimization :

- Continuously optimize cloud spending.

- Monitor infrastructure utilization.

- Recommend architecture improvements that reduce operational costs.

- Balance scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.

- Prepare infrastructure cost forecasts and optimization reports.

9. Business & Pre-Sales Support :

- Collaborate with Sales and Solutions teams.

- Support:

i. RFPs

ii. RFQs

iii. Customer architecture discussions

iv. Technical due diligence

- Present infrastructure capabilities to customers.

- Translate technical architecture into business value.

Required Technical Skills :

- Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS).

- Containerization: Kubernetes, Docker.

- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Pulumi.

- Networking: Load Balancers, Firewalls, DNS, VPN, NAT, Reverse Proxy, Routing, Subnets, VPC/VNet.

- Identity & Security: Azure AD / Entra ID, AWS IAM, Active Directory, LDAP, SSO, MFA, SSL/TLS, PKI.

- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows Server.

- Automation & Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python.

- Monitoring Tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Datadog, Splunk.

- DevOps Tools: Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CI/CD Pipelines.

Required Experience :

- 1015+ years in Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Architecture, or Enterprise IT.

- Strong hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS.

- Extensive Kubernetes administration and architecture experience.

- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code.

- Strong understanding of enterprise networking.

- Experience designing secure cloud environments.

- Hands-on experience with disaster recovery planning.

- Experience supporting enterprise compliance programs.

- Proven experience managing production-critical infrastructure.

- Experience leading technical infrastructure initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), HashiCorp Terraform Certification, CISSP, CCSP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor.
