We are seeking a highly experienced and technically specialized IT Applications Engineer IV focused on Enterprise Integration. This senior role requires deep, hands-on expertise in managing and supporting the Apigee Hybrid platform, coupled with a strong foundation in SRE principles for monitoring, troubleshooting, and support.

The ideal candidate will also possess solid Middleware support experience, knowledge of Kubernetes environments, and the ability to mentor junior team members. This position is critical for maintaining high availability and performance of our core API services.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Focus :

Apigee Hybrid Expertise and SRE :

- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Apigee Hybrid platform, driving advanced configuration, deployment, and ongoing operational excellence.

- Implement and practice SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) principles, ensuring robust, scalable Support, Monitoring, and Troubleshooting for mission-critical API infrastructure.

- Proactively monitor API traffic, latency, and error rates, developing custom dashboards and alerts to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

Middleware and Kubernetes Management :

- Provide expert-level Middleware support for various integration platforms, ensuring stability and connectivity across enterprise systems.

- Leverage working Knowledge of Kubernetes (AKS, OpenShift) concepts and operations to manage the deployment, scaling, and health of the Apigee Hybrid runtime plane.

API Security and Governance :

- Implement and enforce secure API standards, demonstrating a solid Understanding of API security protocols (OAuth2, mTLS, JWT).

- Contribute to the governance of APIs, including managing the API Registry and Marketplace functionalities to promote discovery and reuse.

Mentoring and Process Improvement :

- Actively engage in Mentoring experience, guiding and developing junior team members in integration technologies, SRE practices, and platform support.

- Assist in Troubleshooting DevOps pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) related to API deployment, ensuring reliable and automated CI/CD processes.

Required Qualifications & Skills :

- Experience : Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in IT integration, middleware management, and API platform support.

- Core API Platform : Expert-level, hands-on experience and deep proficiency with Apigee Hybrid setup, configuration, and maintenance.

- Operational Excellence : Strong practical experience applying SRE principles across Support, Monitoring, and Troubleshooting within a high-availability environment.

- Middleware : Proven experience in Middleware support and maintenance (e.g., Kafka, Message Queues, or other ESBs).

- Containerization : Working Knowledge of Kubernetes (AKS, OpenShift) for deploying and managing distributed application components.

- Leadership : Demonstrated experience in Mentoring and guiding technical resources.

Preferred Skills (Highly Relevant) :

- Solid experience with API Registry and Marketplace features for API lifecycle governance.

- Strong practical understanding and implementation experience of modern API security protocols (OAuth2, mTLS, JWT).

- Hands-on experience Troubleshooting DevOps pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) related to integration deployment.

- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls) critical for API traffic.
