Role Overview :

As a Linux Kernel Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining Linux kernel-based solutions for embedded systems, primarily focusing on Qualcomm SoCs and chipsets. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers to deliver high-performance, reliable, and secure software for our clients. Your work will directly contribute to the success of innovative products in the mobile, automotive, and IoT domains.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain Linux kernel drivers and modules for various hardware peripherals on Qualcomm SoCs, ensuring optimal performance and stability.

- Customize and optimize the Linux kernel using Yocto Project for embedded systems, tailoring the operating system to specific hardware and software requirements.

- Analyze and debug kernel-level issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to ensure system reliability.

- Collaborate with hardware engineers to understand hardware specifications and develop corresponding software solutions, ensuring seamless integration.

- Contribute to the development and maintenance of build systems and automation scripts, streamlining the software development process.

- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other engineers, promoting code quality and knowledge sharing.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Linux kernel development and embedded systems technologies, applying new knowledge to improve existing solutions.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated proficiency in C programming language and a strong understanding of Linux kernel internals.

- Experience with Yocto Project for building custom Linux distributions for embedded systems.

- Familiarity with Qualcomm SoCs and chipsets, including experience with device drivers and board support packages (BSPs).

- Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot complex software issues in embedded Linux environments.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

- Ability to adapt to on-site work requirements in Bangalore or Hyderabad.
