Role Overview :

As a Principal Engineer for Agentic and Generative AI, you will spearhead the design and implementation of sophisticated AI systems that move beyond simple text generation into autonomous, goal-oriented agentic workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of data scientists, software architects, and business stakeholders to translate complex enterprise requirements into scalable AI architectures. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of Infosys's AI offerings, directly influencing how global clients automate decision-making and optimize operations through advanced machine learning models.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and deploy end-to-end Generative AI solutions, including complex RAG pipelines and autonomous agents, to solve high-impact business problems for global clients.

- Lead the technical strategy for LLMOps, ensuring robust model monitoring, versioning, and lifecycle management within distributed production environments.

- Design scalable AI infrastructure that integrates seamlessly with existing enterprise systems, optimizing for latency, cost, and model performance.

- Mentor senior engineering teams on advanced prompt engineering techniques and the implementation of agentic frameworks to improve system reasoning and reliability.

- Collaborate with research and product teams to evaluate emerging AI technologies, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of the generative AI landscape.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying large-scale AI architectures, with a deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure.

- Advanced proficiency in Python and modern deep learning frameworks, with a proven ability to build and fine-tune LLMs for specific enterprise use cases.

- Extensive experience in implementing RAG architectures and agentic workflows, with a focus on improving accuracy and reducing hallucinations in AI outputs.

- Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive consensus across global teams.

- A minimum of 12 - 18 years of experience in software engineering and machine learning, with a track record of delivering high-performance AI solutions in a professional environment.

- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating with distributed teams based in Bangalore and across the global Infosys network.
