Principal Architect MEAN Stack / AWS Serverless

Role Overview :

We are looking for a highly experienced Principal Architect MEAN Stack / AWS Serverless to define enterprise-wide architecture strategy and provide technical leadership for large-scale digital platforms. The role will own architectural vision, technology governance, cloud and serverless adoption, scalability, performance, reliability, and engineering excellence across multiple products and development organizations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and own the enterprise architecture strategy and technology roadmap for web, cloud, and serverless platforms.

- Provide strategic technical leadership across multiple products, platforms, and engineering squads.

- Architect highly scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performance applications using Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React.js, and AWS Serverless technologies.

- Establish enterprise-wide architectural principles, design patterns, reusable frameworks, engineering standards, and technology governance.

- Define and drive cloud-native and serverless architecture strategies using AWS.

- Provide architectural direction across AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and AWS SAM.

- Define enterprise standards for RESTful API architecture, scalability, security, availability, observability, and performance.

- Drive modernization of legacy applications and adoption of cloud-native/serverless technologies.

- Define strategies for CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence.

- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend platforms and architectural approaches aligned with business objectives.

- Review and govern solution architectures for complex and business-critical initiatives.

- Identify enterprise-level architectural risks, technical debt, scalability constraints, and performance bottlenecks and establish long-term remediation strategies.

- Establish architecture governance and conduct architecture/design reviews across engineering teams.

- Partner with senior leadership, product, engineering, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to align technology strategy with organizational goals.

- Mentor and guide Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and senior engineering teams.

- Drive engineering excellence through standardization, automation, reusability, quality, and continuous improvement.

- Ensure technology solutions are scalable, secure, cost-efficient, maintainable, and aligned with long-term business growth.

Required Skills :

- 14+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, and technology leadership.

- Extensive experience architecting large-scale enterprise web and cloud applications.

- Deep expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.js.

- Extensive experience with AWS Serverless architecture and cloud-native application design.

- Strong expertise in AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and AWS SAM.

- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, scalability, performance engineering, and cloud architecture.

- Extensive experience with CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps or similar DevOps platforms.

- Strong understanding of security, reliability, observability, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

- Proven experience establishing architecture standards and governance across multiple teams or business units.

- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and modern software engineering methodologies.
