Purpose of the Position :

This role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing reporting and analytic solutions using Power BI, with AWS Redshift serving as the data warehousing platform and Denodo as a Data virtualization platform.

The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into actionable insights that facilitate data-driven decision-making.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that data is effectively modelled, easily accessible, and presented in a way that aligns with our clients' business needs.

Key Result Areas and Activities :

- Power BI Development : Design, develop, and implement advanced Power BI solutions, including interactive dashboards, reports, and scorecards.

- Utilize your expertise in Power BI to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces that effectively communicate data insights

- Data Modelling and Integration : Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to understand data sources, perform data modelling, and ensure the availability of clean and accurate data for analysis.

- Integrate data from various sources into Power BI, ensuring data quality and consistency

- Advanced Analytics : Utilize advanced analytics features of Power BI, such as DAX calculations, statistical modelling, and machine learning integration, to perform sophisticated data analysis.

- Extract valuable insights from complex data sets and present them in a clear and actionable manner

- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management : Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand their needs, and translate them into effective data visualizations.

- Conduct regular meetings and presentations to demonstrate the capabilities and value of Power BI solutions.

- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing : Document data models, report specifications, and development processes to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.

- Create user guides and training materials to enable self-service analytics for end-users.

- Quality Assurance and Troubleshooting : Validation of developed Power BI solutions to ensure accuracy, functionality, and adherence to business requirements.

- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or bugs that arise during testing or production.

Roles & Responsibilities :

Essential skills :

- Proficiency in SQL, DAX, Power BI Report builder, Power Query Editor & Power BI Services

- Proven experience in designing and implementing data models to support reporting and analytics, including the creation of semantic models

- Strong experience in developing interactive, visually appealing reports and dashboards

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to troubleshoot data discrepancy issues

- Should be able to develop and maintain semantic models to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting

- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Require minimal handholding and work independently.

Desirable skills :

- MicroStrategy to Power BI migration experience

- Retail domain knowledge is a plus

- Experience of working with Agile

- AWS Redshift experience

- Exposure on performance optimization and scalability of Power BI solutions

Qualifications :

- BE Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or other technical disciplines.

- 5+ years industry relevant experience in Power BI development projects.

- Demonstrated problem solving, multi-tasking, troubleshooting skills with a high degree of flexibility

- Demonstrated self-leadership with the ability to work independently, lead team and manage conflict

- Should be able to provide technical support to other team members as required
