Role Purpose :

The IDP Prompt Engineer is responsible for driving the successful adoption, optimization, and continuous improvement of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions. The role focuses on designing AI prompts, configuring document extraction logic, improving automation accuracy, and supporting the onboarding of new countries, customers, and business processes.

Working closely with Operations, Process Excellence, Product Owners, Business SMEs, and Technology Teams, the IDP Prompt Engineer will transform manual document processing activities into scalable, AI-driven automated workflows, improving productivity, data quality, and customer experience across GSC operations. This role leverages IDP platform capabilities such as prompt engineering, extraction rules, AI validation techniques, training models, and document automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities :

Intelligent Document Processing & Prompt Engineering :

- Design, develop, test, and optimize prompts to improve document extraction accuracy and automation performance.

- Configure and maintain extraction rules, AI models, prompt libraries, and validation logic.

- Develop and maintain reusable prompt standards and best practices across GSC.

- Analyse document structures, business rules, and logistics workflows to improve AI performance.

- Continuously refine prompts based on operational feedback and processing outcomes.

Business Process Automation :

- Support automation initiatives across Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage, and Logistics Operations.

- Partner with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize document automation opportunities.

- Translate operational requirements into AI-driven document processing solutions.

- Support onboarding of new business entities, countries, customers, and document types.

Solution Testing & Quality Management :

- Execute training, testing, and validation activities for new implementations and enhancements.

- Investigate extraction issues and perform root-cause analysis.

- Monitor automation accuracy and recommend improvement actions.

- Establish quality benchmarks and ensure adherence to service standards.

Platform Governance & Administration :

- Configure dictionaries, lookup tables, business rules, and validation mechanisms.

- Maintain process documentation, user guides, and operational standards.

- Support release testing, change management, and production deployments.

- Ensure compliance with governance, security, and data quality standards.

Stakeholder Engagement :

- Collaborate with Operations, Product Teams, Process Owners, and Technology Teams globally.

- Conduct user training, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

- Provide subject matter expertise on intelligent automation and document processing capabilities.

- Support transition-to-operations and hypercare activities following deployments.

Education & Experience :

Education :

- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience :

- 3+ years of experience in: Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning solutions, OCR and document capture technologies, Process Automation, Shared Services or Logistics Operations.

Preferred Experience :

- DHL Global Forwarding operational processes.

- Freight Forwarding and Customs documentation.

- Rossum, ABBYY, Kofax, UiPath Document Understanding, Microsoft AI Builder, or similar IDP platforms.

- Generative AI and Prompt Engineering.
