About the Role :

IndusInd Bank is looking for an experienced Lead - Senior Data Engineer to drive the design, development, and scaling of its cloud-native data platform on Microsoft Azure.

The role involves leading data engineering initiatives, architecting scalable data solutions, mentoring engineering teams, and contributing to enterprise-wide data transformation.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native data engineering solutions on Azure.

- Build and optimize data pipelines using Azure Databricks, PySpark, Python, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

- Design and implement modern Lakehouse and data platform architectures using Azure services.

- Work with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2) and Azure Synapse Analytics.

- Develop robust data models and data integration frameworks for enterprise analytics.

- Drive implementation of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git.

- Enable integration with Power BI and support self-service analytics capabilities.

- Ensure data platforms are scalable, secure, reliable, and optimized for performance.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams.

- Collaborate with business, analytics, architecture, and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.

- Drive best practices around data engineering, cloud adoption, development standards, and platform governance.

Mandatory Technical Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks

- PySpark and Python

- Azure Data Factory (ADF)

- Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (ADLS Gen2)

- Azure Synapse Analytics

- Data Modeling

- Lakehouse Architecture

- Azure DevOps, CI/CD & Git

Education & Certifications :

Essential :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.

Preferred Certifications :

- Microsoft Certified : Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)

- Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)

- Databricks Associate/Professional certifications

Ideal Candidate :

- 14 - 18 years of overall experience in data engineering, data platforms, or related technology roles.

- Strong hands-on experience across the Azure data ecosystem.

- Proven experience leading data engineering projects and technical teams.

- Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, Lakehouse concepts, data modeling, and modern cloud data platforms.

- Experience working with large-scale data environments and complex enterprise data transformation initiatives
