Role Overview :

As a GCP Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data pipelines and scalable architectures within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders, to translate complex requirements into high-performance data solutions. Your work will directly influence the efficiency of data processing workflows, enabling clients to derive actionable insights and maintain a competitive edge in their respective markets.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and develop scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using PySpark and Python to support high-volume data processing requirements.

- Optimize existing Big Data workflows on GCP to improve performance, reduce latency, and ensure cost-effectiveness for enterprise clients.

- Collaborate with cloud architects to design secure and reliable data storage solutions using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and other GCP-native services.

- Automate data quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure the integrity and availability of data for downstream analytics and reporting.

- Partner with internal project teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement best practices in data engineering and cloud infrastructure management.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in building data solutions on Google Cloud Platform, with a strong understanding of its core services and data ecosystem.

- Proficiency in developing complex data processing applications using PySpark and Python, with a solid grasp of Big Data architectural patterns.

- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Java to support custom data integration tasks and backend service development.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Proven experience working in a collaborative, agile environment, with the flexibility to adapt to hybrid work models based in Chennai.

- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, supported by 4 to 9 years of professional experience in data engineering.
