Job Title : Head of Data & Analytics Platforms

About the Role :

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and technically strong leader to head our Analytics Applications and Engineering business unit. This role requires a rare combination of :

- Deep engineering and architecture expertise

- Commercial and business ownership mindset

- Strong people leadership capability

- Customer-facing solutioning skills

- Sound governance capabilities to setup and manage a growing organization

- Ability to drive AI-led transformation

You will lead an organization of ~ 80 to 100 engineers, engineering managers and Architects responsible for building scalable analytics applications, embedded AI solutions, custom dashboards, and modern data products for enterprise clients.

The role goes beyond delivery management. You will own business outcomes, capability building, profitability, talent strategy, and technology evolution while partnering closely with Business Analysts and client stakeholders.

We are looking for a hands-on techno-commercial leader who has grown within entrepreneurial environments and combines startup agility with mature operational discipline.

Candidates from purely large-scale IT services environments with narrowly defined delivery roles may not fit unless they demonstrate entrepreneurial ownership and technical depth.

Key Responsibilities :

Business Ownership :

- Joint ownership of BU revenue targets and growth plans

- Own profitability, delivery margins, and cost optimization

- Support pre-sales, solutioning, estimations, and proposal development

- Participate in account growth opportunities and strategic customer discussions

- Drive operational excellence across the unit

Delivery Leadership :

- Own end-to-end delivery of analytics applications and data platforms including

- Quality, Timelines and Engineering efficiency

- Demand Planning and fulfillment

- Lead organizations of ~80 to 100 engineers and engineering managers

- Establish delivery governance and risk management processes

- Build repeatable delivery models and frameworks

Technical Leadership :

Front-end and application engineering :

- Using Microsoft .NET, NodeJS

- Angular / modern frontend frameworks

- Enterprise application architecture

- API and microservices architecture

Data engineering and cloud platforms :

- Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Databricks and other mainstream cloud data ecosystems (such as Snowflake, AWS, GCP)

- Modern data pipelines and ETL tools for Batch/Real time processing

- Data platform architecture

Analytics and AI applications :

- Embedded ML into applications at production scale

- AI-assisted / Agentic workflows and LLM-powered experiences

- DevOps and MLOps concepts

Responsibilities include :

- Reviews (Technical, Architecture & Solution design)

- Technology selection decisions

- Defining engineering standards and best practices

- Ensuring maintainability and scalability

Capability Building :

- Build and evolve organizational capabilities, Identify emerging technology trends and opportunities

- Create reusable frameworks/accelerators and Establish engineering practices around :

a. coding standards, quality engineering

b. CI/CD and Observability

c. security

AI-led Transformation : Drive the transformation of engineering teams through AI adoption :

- AI-assisted software development

- AI-enabled productivity frameworks

- Agentic engineering workflows

- AI-powered testing and code generation

- Next-generation AI application capabilities

Talent Leadership :

- Own hiring strategy and workforce planning

- Build leadership bench strength

- Lead performance management and career development

- Mentor engineering managers and future leaders

- Create a strong engineering culture balancing innovation and execution

Client and Solution Leadership :

- Participate in client discussions and executive presentations

- Drive solution reviews and architecture discussions

- Translate business problems into scalable technical solutions

- Act as an escalation point for critical delivery or architectural issues

Required Experience :

- 15 to 20+ years of experience in software engineering, analytics applications, or data engineering

- Experience managing organizations of 80 to 100+ engineers

- Experience owning delivery and business metrics

- Demonstrated success running P&L or delivery margin responsibilities

- Strong experience with customer-facing solutioning and pre-sales
