Role Overview :

As an Software Developer Backend L2 specializing in Voice and Agentic AI, you will be at the forefront of building the next generation of autonomous conversational agents. You will work closely with cross-functional teams of AI researchers, product managers, and backend engineers to architect systems that enable real-time, low-latency voice interactions. Your work will directly influence the quality and responsiveness of Haptik's voice-enabled products, ensuring that our AI agents can reason, execute tasks, and provide human-like experiences at scale.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement robust backend services that support high-concurrency voice AI workflows to ensure seamless user interactions.

- Develop and integrate Agentic AI frameworks that allow virtual assistants to perform complex, multi-step tasks autonomously.

- Architect and maintain distributed systems that handle real-time audio streaming and processing via WebRTC to minimize latency.

- Build and optimize REST APIs that facilitate communication between core AI models and external enterprise platforms.

- Collaborate with the infrastructure team to deploy and scale Generative AI models within cloud environments, ensuring high availability and cost-efficiency.

- Refactor and improve existing microservices to enhance system reliability and performance under heavy production loads.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in building scalable backend systems using Python, with a deep understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrency models.

- Proven ability to design and manage distributed systems and microservices architectures that handle significant traffic volumes.

- Strong proficiency in cloud computing platforms and the ability to deploy AI-driven applications in production environments.

- Experience working with WebRTC and real-time communication protocols to deliver low-latency voice solutions.

- Hands-on experience integrating Generative AI and Agentic AI frameworks into enterprise-grade software products.

- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to stakeholders and collaborate within a fast-paced, agile engineering team.

- A minimum of 3 - 6 years of professional experience in backend development, with a strong track record of delivering high-impact software solutions.
