Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled GStreamer Developer to join our engineering team in Bangalore or Kochi. In this role, you will architect, develop, and optimize complex multimedia pipelines to deliver high-performance video processing solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, to translate technical requirements into robust, scalable software. Your work will directly impact the end-user experience by ensuring low-latency, high-fidelity streaming and processing capabilities, ultimately driving the performance standards of our next-generation media products.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement custom GStreamer elements and plugins to extend multimedia framework capabilities for specific hardware acceleration needs.

- Optimize media processing pipelines to reduce latency and CPU utilization, ensuring seamless performance for high-definition video applications.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues across the media stack to maintain system stability and reliability for our global client base.

- Collaborate with firmware and driver teams to ensure efficient interaction between software pipelines and underlying hardware components.

- Mentor junior developers by conducting code reviews and sharing best practices to elevate the overall technical proficiency of the engineering team.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in C and C++ programming with a deep understanding of GStreamer framework internals, including pad negotiation, state management, and bus handling.

- Proven ability to develop and debug multi-threaded applications in Linux environments, ensuring thread safety and efficient resource management.

- Strong grasp of multimedia standards, including video codecs like H.264/H.265, container formats, and streaming protocols such as RTSP, WebRTC, or HLS.

- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical challenges and solutions to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field, complemented by a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- High level of adaptability to work in a hybrid environment, maintaining productivity and collaboration across distributed teams in Bangalore and Kochi.
