Job Description : Full-Stack Platform Engineer :
We are hiring a Full-Stack Platform Engineer with 3+ years of experience in Python (Frappe), React Native, Node.js / RabbitMQ, and Angular / Ionic.
About Innoterra :
Innoterra operates a multi-app commerce platform spanning four functional areas: customer- and vendor-facing frontend applications, a dedicated field mobile application, a Frappe Framework backend, and a backend integration layer connecting the backend, the mobile application, and other connected systems.
The platform consists of six repositories across five distinct technology stacks, run as a single, unified system.
We are looking for a senior engineer to take end-to-end ownership of this platform maintaining, extending, and releasing all six applications, and using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and GitHub Copilot to work efficiently across the stack.
Given the breadth of technology involved, the role is structured around a clear set of priorities: deep expertise in Python for our Frappe backend, where a strong Python engineer can pick up Frappe's conventions on the job, along with the Mobile Application and the Backend Integration Layer.
The remaining requirement is working proficiency across the Frontend Applications, supported by AI tooling.
Who We Are Looking For :
- Owns the platform end-to-end acts as the primary point of accountability across six repositories and five technology stacks.
- Brings real depth in Python comfortable reading, debugging, and safely extending the Frappe backend, not just navigating its documentation.
- Uses AI tools deliberately relies on Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot to move faster across the lower-priority parts of the stack, while still understanding what the tooling produces.
- Brings structure to manual processes comfortable with today's Makefile-driven releases, and motivated to introduce automated testing and deployment over time.
- Treats technical debt as an opportunity approaches legacy cleanup, consolidating duplicated application logic, and closing integration gaps as meaningful, ownable work.
What You Will Do :
1. Backend Frappe Framework Tier 1 :
- Maintain and extend the platform's backend including the DocTypes covering catalog, customer, supplier, cart, order, and payment data (CCAvenue/Easebuzz), together with the inventory and warehouse module that runs on the same Frappe bench.
- Keep the shared bench healthy scheduler jobs, background workers, and the platform's two parallel API generations (v1 and v2).
2. Mobile Application React Native Tier 1 :
- Develop and maintain the field sales-force mobile application used daily by distributor representatives, covering KYC, lead management, geo-tagged visits, order creation, and cash/UPI collection.
- Support the application on Android the primary platform it ships on today, with iOS a genuine growth opportunity for the team to take on down the line.
3. Backend Integration Layer Tier 1 :
- Own the platform's integration layer connecting the Frappe backend, the mobile application, and other connected systems, and responsible for synchronising orders, payments, and inventory events across the platform.
- Prioritise integration issues quickly given how central this layer is to the rest of the platform, staying ahead of issues here has an outsized impact.
4. Frontend Applications Angular/Ionic Tier 2 :
- Maintain and extend the customer- and vendor-facing frontend applications covering shopping, cart, checkout, and wallet functionality on one, and catalog, inventory, POS, and reporting functionality on the other.
- Deliver working proficiency across both applications using AI-assisted development to move quickly and confidently across both.
Across all four areas, the role involves triaging and resolving issues end-to-end from the mobile interface through to the backend DocType layer managing Android releases, and playing a hands-on role in modernising the platform over time.
Technology :
1. Core Be Comfortable Here :
- Python the primary language for the Frappe backend, including DocTypes, the bench CLI, hooks.py, the whitelist-based REST/RPC model, and the scheduler/background job system.
- React Native RN 0.76 with React 18, Redux Toolkit and RTK Query, React Navigation v6, and native Android build tooling (Gradle).
- Node.js and TypeScript message-queue-driven architecture (RabbitMQ/AMQP or equivalent) and Docker image build and push.
- SQL, mobile release engineering, and Git MariaDB/MySQL, the Android keystore and Play Store release process, and git-flow branching discipline.
- AI coding assistants practical, everyday fluency with Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools this is what makes it possible for one person to cover this much ground effectively.
2. Relevant Exposure or Willingness to Learn :
- Angular, Ionic, and Capacitor/Cordova for the frontend applications. Working proficiency is sufficient here.
- Frappe Framework prior hands-on exposure shortens the ramp-up period but isn't required, given the Python-first hiring bar above.
- India-specific payment gateways CCAvenue, Easebuzz, and Razorpay, along with OTP/SMS-based authentication flows.
- Third-party SDK integration push notifications (OneSignal), Firebase, and Google Maps/geolocation.
- CI/CD experience this is an area the platform is early on, so there's real room to bring in your own practices and build it out.
What You Bring :
- Strong Python fundamentals clean design, comfort debugging unfamiliar codebases, and the ability to read and safely extend framework internals. This is our highest hiring priority, ahead of specific Frappe experience.
- React Native production experience Redux/Redux Toolkit with RTK Query, React Navigation, and native Android build tooling. iOS/Xcode/CocoaPods familiarity is useful, since the app is Android-only today and iOS may follow later.
- Node.js and TypeScript experience including message-queue-driven architectures and Docker image build/push.
- Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS experience with hands-on exposure to Ionic and Capacitor (or Cordova) solid working knowledge is enough here.
- 3+ years of professional full-stack or mobile engineering experience with a demonstrated ability to work across multiple stacks.
- An opportunity to build release automation from the ground up bring your own CI/CD, testing, and deployment practices to a platform that's ready for them, along with confidence querying and debugging directly against a production MariaDB/MySQL database.
- Good to have Frappe Framework experience; familiarity with India-specific payment gateways and OTP authentication; prior experience introducing CI/CD or hardening a legacy, multi-repo codebase; and git-flow discipline.
What We Offer :
- End-to-end ownership of a live, production commerce platform.
- A direct role in shaping how the platform's technical debt is addressed, including CI/CD, testing, shared libraries, and crash reporting.
- Competitive compensation for the right candidate.
