Job Description

About the team :

Access Center (Comet) is Innovaccer's healthcare workflow platform. The stack spans a React/Redux frontend served through a Node.js layer, and a Python/FastAPI backend (with some legacy Django) using MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Kafka, with growing use of LLM/AI agent tooling. It powers multi-tenant products used by live customer deployments daily.

Responsibilities :

- Build features across the stack: React/Redux on the frontend, Python/FastAPI services on the backend.

- Design and integrate REST APIs, including rate limiting, retries, and idempotency for external integrations.

- Model and query data across MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch as needed.

- Work with Kafka based event streams for cross-service communication.

- Write unit and integration tests on both ends of the stack (Jest/React Testing Library on frontend, pytest on backend).

- Debug and triage production issues across the stack, using observability tools (OpenTelemetry, NewRelic) to find root cause.

- Collaborate with product and design on features, and with QA on test coverage.

- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) and Docker based deployments.

- Apply secure coding practices, given the platform handles healthcare data.

Required skills :

- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and Python.

- Working knowledge of React (hooks, state management with Redux) and a Python web framework (FastAPI or Django).

- Comfortable working with both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.

- Experience writing automated tests on both frontend and backend.

- Proficient with Git and collaborative workflows.

- Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and system design basics.

Good to have :

- TypeScript experience.

- Experience with Kafka or other event streaming/message queue systems.

- Experience with LLM/AI tooling: LangChain, RAG pipelines, or agent frameworks.

- Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments.

- Familiarity with observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, NewRelic, Grafana).

- Exposure to multi-cloud storage SDKs (AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Healthcare interoperability background (FHIR, HL7, EHR integrations such as Epic or Cerner) - not required, general distributed systems thinking matters most.
