Job Requirements:
- Strong Ruby on Rails experience, including server-rendered views with ERB in a production codebase.
- Solid React and TypeScript skills, with experience building and maintaining component-driven front-end applications.
- Comfortable working across the full front-end stack - from Rails controllers and ERB templates through to modern React components - and choosing the right tool for the job.
- Nice to have: experience working with Stimulus.js, Turbo, and Ruby View Components.
- Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and analytics instrumentation (e.g. Amplitude, RudderStack) in a product experimentation context.
- Experience working with microservices and/or monolith architectures. The team owns a mix of standalone services and a monolith, and is actively migrating components between them, so comfort operating across both patterns is valuable.
- Experience using AI tooling in your day-to-day workflow, and curiosity about applying it more deeply.
- Demonstrated effectiveness operating in a global company, with the communication, discipline, and async judgment required to keep work moving across time zones.
- Curiosity and willingness to explore - the team owns a broad surface area of services across two marketplaces. The right person is energised by digging into systems they haven't seen before rather than deterred by it.
- Ability to work independently on features end-to-end with the team's support, from technical spike and scoping through to deployment.
- Solid testing and code quality practices, with the ability to uphold engineering standards and contribute to documentation and system health under the guidance of the Tech Lead.
- Collaborative and inclusive - engages well across disciplines, gives and receives feedback openly, pairs willingly, and takes real interest in helping less experienced engineers grow.
