Key Responsibilities :
1. FPGA Design & Development :
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain FPGA-based solutions using Verilog and/or VHDL.
- Translate system-level requirements into FPGA architecture and RTL implementations.
- Develop high-performance and scalable FPGA designs for complex embedded and networking applications.
- Integrate and customize FPGA IP cores including DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, Transceivers, and other high-speed interfaces.
- Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to design decisions for FPGA subsystems.
2. FPGA Implementation & Optimization :
- Execute the complete FPGA design flow including synthesis, place-and-route (PNR), timing analysis, timing closure, and bitstream generation.
- Analyze timing reports and optimize designs to achieve performance, power, and area targets.
- Resolve setup and hold timing violations and improve overall design efficiency.
- Ensure FPGA designs comply with project-specific performance and reliability requirements.
3. Verification & Simulation :
- Develop and execute simulation test plans for FPGA designs.
- Perform functional and timing simulations using industry-standard tools such as Questasim.
- Create test benches and verification environments for validating FPGA functionality.
- Analyze simulation results and debug design issues efficiently.
- Work closely with validation teams to ensure design quality and coverage.
4. Board Bring-Up & Hardware Validation :
- Perform FPGA board bring-up activities and validate FPGA functionality on hardware platforms.
- Conduct board-level testing and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and FPGA debugging tools.
- Investigate and resolve hardware-software integration issues.
- Validate high-speed interfaces and communication protocols on target hardware.
- Support prototype testing, system integration, and product qualification activities.
5. Scripting & Automation :
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Tcl and other scripting languages.
- Automate FPGA build flows, simulations, regression testing, and implementation processes.
- Improve development productivity through automation and process optimization.
- Support continuous integration and FPGA development workflows.
6. Design Quality & Compliance :
- Perform design reviews and ensure adherence to coding guidelines and FPGA development best practices.
- Conduct Lint and CDC (Clock Domain Crossing) analysis and resolve identified issues.
- Maintain version control and design documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with project standards, design methodologies, and quality processes.
7. Documentation & Collaboration :
- Prepare and maintain technical specifications, design documents, verification reports, and validation results.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, validation, system engineering, and product teams.
- Participate in customer discussions, technical reviews, and project planning activities.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers when required.
Required Technical Skills :
1. FPGA Development :
- Strong hands-on experience with FPGA development and implementation.
- Experience working with leading FPGA families from Xilinx, Intel (Altera), Microchip (Microsemi), or equivalent platforms.
- Expertise in FPGA design methodologies and implementation flows.
2. RTL Design :
- Strong proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL.
- Experience designing complex RTL modules for high-performance systems.
- Good understanding of synchronous design principles and FPGA architecture.
3. FPGA Tools :
- Hands-on experience with one or more FPGA toolchains:
