Forward Deployed Engineer at Spyne

The role :

Forward Deployed Engineers are how Spyne shows up on a customer's data estate. You'll deploy an agent squad on high-stakes workloads, like moving an Oracle or mainframe warehouse to Snowflake or Databricks, and make sure every result is verified before it ships.

This is a hands-on engineering role, not pre-sales. You'll own deliveries end to end, work directly with CIOs and data leaders, and feed what you learn back into the platform. Expect to travel to customer sites as engagements need.

What you'll own :

- Customer deliveries end to end, from discovery and Blueprint to verified production cutover.

- Squads working through migration, modeling, reconciliation, and governance across Oracle, SAP, mainframe, Snowflake, and Databricks.

- Verification contracts for row, aggregate, and checksum parity, so nothing advances unverified.

- Human review of squad output, stepping in with production code where agents need help.

- Connectors, transformations, and agent workflows built to production standards.

- Discovery, demos, and proofs of value with customer data teams, including security reviews and data-residency needs.

What we look for :

Data engineering :

- 6 - 10 years in software or data engineering, including large migration or modernization programs.

- Deep SQL and data modeling on Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery, plus legacy sources like Oracle, SAP, or Teradata.

- Pipelines with dbt, Spark, or Airflow, and a rigorous approach to reconciliation and data quality.

AI engineering :

- Hands-on experience building with LLMs and agents (e.g., LangGraph), including tool use and evals, in strong Python.

Customer delivery :

- Experience deploying into enterprise environments (cloud, VPC, or on-prem) with SSO and network controls.

- Clear communication with engineers and senior stakeholders, and comfort owning outcomes on site.

Nice to have :

- Prior Forward Deployed or customer-embedded engineering experience at a product company.

- Mainframe, SAP, or core banking data experience.

- Experience with data governance, lineage, or catalog tools.

- Background in BFSI, pharma, or other regulated industries (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, RBI, DPDP, GxP).

- Open-source work in data or AI.

Must have :

- Hands on Agentic AI development

Willingness to travel :

- 40% (Preferred)
