Foodhub - Head of Engineering

Role Overview :

We are looking for a highly dynamic and hands-on Head of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering organization.

This is a tech-first leadership role where you will actively contribute to architecture, coding, and system design, while driving the engineering team and delivery.

We are specifically looking for someone strong in Node.js, AWS, React Native, and AI/LLM-driven systems (must-have).

Key Responsibilities :

Hands-on Technical Leadership (Mandatory) :

- Actively contribute to coding, architecture, and system design

- Design and scale distributed systems using Node.js and TypeScript

- Drive best practices : clean code, testing, CI/CD, performance optimization

- Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and secure

AI & Innovation (Must-Have) :

- Lead implementation of AI/LLM-based solutions (RAG, automation, AI workflows)

- Integrate AI into product features and engineering workflows

- Drive AI-first engineering culture and productivity improvements

Engineering Leadership :

- Lead and scale engineering teams (backend, frontend, mobile)

- Manage Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and ICs

- Own hiring, team structure, and performance management

- Build a high-ownership, execution-driven culture

Product & Delivery :

- Work with CEO/Product to translate business goals into execution

- Own end-to-end delivery and roadmap execution

- Ensure fast, high-quality releases

Technology & Platform :

- Own :

a. Mobile apps (React Native)

b. Backend (Node.js, TypeScript)

b. Cloud (AWS)

- Drive microservices, event-driven architecture, API design

- Oversee DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, reliability

Must-Have Skills :

- 10+ years in software engineering

- 3+ years in engineering leadership roles

- Strong hands-on expertise in :

a. Node.js / TypeScript

b. AWS (cloud-native systems)

c. System Design & Distributed Systems

- Experience with React Native / mobile-first architecture

- Hands-on experience with AI/LLM (RAG, GPT, Claude, AI workflows)

- Proven experience in scaling systems and teams

Good to Have :

- Startup / high-growth experience

- Kafka / real-time systems / data pipelines

- Consumer-scale or high-traffic platform experience
