Position name : Firmware Validation Engineer
About the Role :
We are building a high-performance software stack for custom hardware, spanning workload ingestion through hardware-level execution.
As a System Software Validation Engineer, you will own validation across software and hardware boundaries. You will identify critical issues, improve performance and reliability, and ensure the platform delivers an excellent experience.
The ideal candidate can debug deeply across software and hardware layers, build scalable validation infrastructure, and provide reliable quality signals for milestone and release.
We are not looking for pure automation skills, test re-run only, black box validation, DevOps for this role, porting skills.
What You Will Deliver :
- Increase stack maturity through effective functional, integration, performance, power, and usability validation.
- Develop modular validation frameworks and tests to qualify product readiness against milestone plans and customer commitments.
- Plan, integrate, and deliver tests in parallel with feature development, enabling a test-driven approach where possible.
- Own issues from reproduction and triage through root-cause analysis, fix verification, and regression coverage.
- Detect bottlenecks and regressions using repeatable benchmarks and profiling.
- Build scalable test frameworks, automation, and CI/CD validation infrastructure.
- Partner with runtime, firmware, hardware, and simulator teams to drive issues to closure.
- Identify regressions, perform postmortems, and close coverage gaps to prevent recurrence.
- Improve release readiness by providing clear quality signals, risks, and recommendations.
Key Accountabilities :
- Define and execute validation strategies across frameworks, runtime, drivers, firmware, and hardware interfaces.
- Develop automated tests and framework for new features, failure scenarios, integrations, and regressions.
- Debug complex system and component-level issues across the full stack.
- Measure performance, power, reliability, and scalability across releases.
- Improve diagnostics, reporting, test coverage, and investigation efficiency.
- Represent the user perspective and provide actionable product feedback.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, system validation, or system debug.
- Strong C or C++ skills and working knowledge of Python.
- Hands-on experience with firmware, low-level drivers, embedded Linux, or a modern RTOS.
- Strong system-level debugging and root-cause analysis skills across software and hardware boundaries.
- Understanding of hardware-software interfaces and modern SoC architectures.
- Experience with tools such as GDB, JTAG, or logic analysers.
- Ability to interpret specifications, datasheets, and schematics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hardware integration, silicon bring-up, FPGA, or emulation experience.
- Performance profiling, benchmarking, and regression analysis.
- Experience with PCIe, UCIe, high-speed Ethernet, FPGA, or hardware emulation.
- Familiarity with Google Test, PyTest, randomized/Fuzzy validation.
- Working experience of using DevOps flow - CI/CD, release. Ability to contribute will be plus.
- Exposure to GPU, AI/ML, or custom-accelerator systems.
