Firmware Engineer - Power Management Firmware (PMFW)

Job Description :

We are looking for experienced Firmware Engineers to join our Embedded Firmware team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing Power Management Firmware (PMFW) for next-generation Embedded and SoC platforms.

The role involves working on platform firmware, BIOS interactions, PCIe device initialization, power management flows, and low-level firmware development.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain Power Management Firmware (PMFW) and DXIO firmware features.

- Work on embedded firmware development for Networking, Storage, Automotive, and Thin Client platforms.

- Develop and validate firmware related to platform power management and device enumeration.

- Collaborate with platform architects and firmware teams to implement product requirements.

- Create low-level design documents, technical specifications, and user guides.

- Participate in firmware debugging, testing, code reviews, and release activities.

- Support firmware bring-up and platform validation activities.

Required Skills :

- Strong expertise in C Programming.

- Experience with Git/Gerrit version control systems.

- Strong understanding of BIOS and platform firmware architecture.

- Experience with PCIe device initialization and firmware development.

- Good knowledge of UEFI BIOS and ACPI specifications.

- Understanding of SoC power management concepts :

1. CPU and Device Power States (C-State, P-State, D-State)

2. Power Gating and Clock Gating

3. Reset Sequencing

4. Hot-Plug and Hot-Unplug flows

- Experience in Platform BIOS Development and Firmware Bring-up.

Preferred Skills :

- Knowledge of AGESA architecture.

- Experience in Embedded Systems and x86 platforms.

- Exposure to Networking, Storage, Automotive, or Industrial Embedded products.

Qualification :

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related disciplines.
