Job Summary:
We are looking for an entry-level Firmware Engineer with 1 - 2 years of experience or relevant academic/training/project exposure in embedded systems and firmware development. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in C programming, Assembly, Embedded Linux/FreeRTOS, firmware development, debugging, and system-level integration.
The candidate will work on firmware development, debugging, system management controller firmware, and BIOS/platform/OS integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, debug, test, and maintain embedded firmware using C and Assembly programming.
- Work on System Management Controller (SMC) firmware and related embedded platforms.
- Support BIOS, platform, and operating system integration activities.
- Develop and troubleshoot firmware for embedded systems running Linux or FreeRTOS.
- Perform low-level debugging and root-cause analysis of firmware and hardware issues.
- Work with hardware interfaces and debugging tools such as JTAG, I2C bus analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Participate in firmware validation, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Use Git/source-control systems and build-management tools for development and release activities.
- Collaborate with hardware, BIOS, software, and validation teams to resolve technical issues.
- Follow Agile/milestone-driven development processes and contribute to project deliverables.
- Maintain technical documentation, test results, and development records.
Required Skills:
- 1 - 2 years of experience in Firmware/Embedded Systems Development.
- Strong programming knowledge in C.
- Basic understanding of Assembly programming.
- Knowledge of Embedded Linux and/or FreeRTOS.
- Understanding of firmware development and embedded system architecture.
- Exposure to BIOS, platform, and OS integration.
- Good debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with Git/source control and build management.
- Understanding of hardware/software interaction and low-level system concepts.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good to Have:
- Knowledge of IPMI, DCMI, and SMASH standards.
- Hands-on experience with JTAG.
- Exposure to I2C bus analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Experience with System Management Controller firmware.
- Understanding of BIOS/platform firmware concepts.
- Experience with embedded firmware projects through internships, academic projects, or training.
Education:
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Strong fundamentals in embedded programming and firmware.
- Candidates with relevant training, academic projects, internships, or hands-on embedded projects are encouraged to apply.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and work in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Willingness to work onsite in Hyderabad.
