Job Summary :

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Database Architect with strong expertise in Couchbase and NoSQL database technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing enterprise-grade database architectures, driving database performance optimization, ensuring high availability, and providing technical leadership for large-scale, distributed database systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement scalable, highly available, and secure Couchbase database architectures for enterprise applications.

- Define database architecture strategies, data modeling standards, and best practices.

- Lead Couchbase cluster design, deployment, configuration, replication, and capacity planning.

- Optimize SQL++ (N1QL) queries, indexing strategies, data access patterns, and overall database performance.

- Architect disaster recovery, backup, restore, failover, and business continuity solutions.

- Troubleshoot complex database performance issues and conduct root-cause analysis.

- Lead database migration, modernization, and integration initiatives.

- Establish database security policies, access controls, encryption, and compliance standards.

- Collaborate with application architects, development teams, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to align database architecture with business requirements.

- Evaluate database technologies and recommend solutions based on scalability, performance, availability, and cost.

- Provide technical leadership, mentor database engineers, and conduct architecture and design reviews.

- Develop database monitoring, alerting, automation, and operational excellence strategies.

Required Skills And Qualifications :

- 12+ years of experience in database architecture, database engineering, or database administration, with strong hands-on expertise in Couchbase.

- Extensive experience in Couchbase Server architecture, cluster management, replication, and distributed data systems.

- Strong expertise in SQL++/N1QL, indexing, query profiling, and performance tuning.

- In-depth knowledge of NoSQL data modeling, document design, partitioning, and scalability principles.

- Experience designing high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery solutions.

- Proven experience handling large-scale databases and mission-critical enterprise applications.

- Strong understanding of database security, access management, and performance monitoring.

- Experience with Linux, scripting, and database automation.

- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized deployments.

- Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.

- Exposure to database migration, cloud-native architectures, and microservices.

- Experience defining database governance, architecture standards, and technology roadmaps.
