This team is responsible for designing, prototyping, validating, and scaling advanced storage systems that seamlessly integrate with Enphase's industry-leading technologies, including the IQ Series Microinverters, EV Chargers, Combiners, and broader home energy ecosystem.
The ideal candidate is passionate about embedded systems development, thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment, and collaborates effectively across multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality products.
What you will do :
- Design and develop firmware for STM32 and ARM Cortex-M based 32-bit microcontrollers.
- Develop solutions using RTOS (preferably Zephyr) for multi-core microcontrollers and support bare-metal, hard real-time applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain low-level drivers for communication interfaces including: I2C, UART, SPI.
- Implement and support CAN communication protocols.
- Develop embedded software using C and leverage Python for build automation, testing, and development workflows.
- Work with microcontroller peripherals including: ADC, GPIO.
- Develop and maintain secure bootloaders and secure firmware upgrade mechanisms.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Git, Docker-based build systems, and automated development workflows.
- Develop and execute unit tests within the Zephyr ecosystem.
- Perform firmware module integration testing and system-level validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
What you bring :
- B. E/ B. Tech in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- 8+ years' experience in a similar (non-academic) role as an embedded software or firmware engineer.
- Strong expertise in embedded firmware development for microcontroller-based systems.
- Experience with TCP/IP-based industrial communication protocols, including: MQTT, Modbus.
- Hands-on experience with Ethernet technologies, preferably Industrial Ethernet.
- Strong understanding of TLS, cybersecurity principles, and embedded application security.
- Experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS), including voltage and temperature monitoring, is highly preferred.
- Understanding of State of Charge (SoC) estimation and battery algorithms is a plus.
- Experience developing or supporting Energy Management System (EMS) state machines is an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and collaboration skills with the ability to drive complex technical projects independently.
