A core responsibility of this role is modernizing and evolving legacy .NET architecture into a scalable, modular, future-ready system that enables automation, experimentation, and long-term platform growth. This includes designing a new architectural foundation that manages and orchestrates downstream systems, workflows, and experimentation infrastructure.

Achieving outcomes requires rapid experimentation, scaling successful experiments, and building infrastructure in phases while guiding a team of highly motivated engineers. This leader will leverage heuristics, internal stakeholder insights, and AI to drive automation of actions. A core new module to be owned by this role is the Attribution Engine, which ties automation and measurement together.

Additionally, this role ensures we are building highly scalable data platforms, intuitive front-end experiences, and reliable workflow automation that enable hundreds of vendors to make better and faster decisions. The Merch Tech Lead is hands-on in guiding engineers, setting technical strategy, championing AI-enabled development, and establishing a culture of rapid experimentation. Shortening feedback loops is critical.

- Successfully leads modernization of legacy .NET architecture into a scalable, modular, and resilient platform.

- Drives measurable increases in BEx adoption, reduced platform issues, and faster time-to-insights for merchants.

- Owns and evolves the technical architecture for CE Revlog to improve availability, scalability, workflow reliability, and data accuracy.

- Drives technology decisions that support multi-year growth of Merch Tech platforms through phased and strategic infrastructure investments.

- Deeply understands the ecommerce domain (DTC or SaaS platforms preferred), including customer experience flows, merchandising systems, and returns logistics complexity.

- Improves UI/UX performance measurably : reduced latency, stronger observability, higher data consistency, and improved monitoring.

- Builds robust workflow systems that automate merchant and internal operational processes.

- Mentors and grows 1-3 SDE2/SDE3 engineers while remaining a strong individual contributor.
