What you'll do:

- Define technical architecture and ensure scalability, security, and performance across all systems.

- Lead backend development (Node.js/TypeScript, FastAPI/Python) and guide frontend (React) integration.

- Drive AI-driven product features both LLM integrations (Langchain, agentic workflows) and custom in-house ML models (PyTorch).

- Own cloud infrastructure (GCP, Firestore) and our analytics/monitoring stack (BigQuery, ClickHouse, Amplitude).

- Build CI/CD pipelines and drive best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.

- Build and mentor the engineering team, and act as the technical point of contact for stakeholders.

- Lead SOC-2 compliance and vendor coordination.

Tech stack:

- React, Zustand, Tailwind, Node.js, FastAPI, Pandas, PyTorch, GCP, Firestore, Cloudflare, Langchain, OpenAI, GitHub Actions.

What we need:

- 6+ years in software development, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role.

- Proven experience building and scaling production systems serving millions of users.

- Proven experience integrating AI-driven solutions into production systems.

- Strong backend expertise, with solid understanding of frontend and cloud infrastructure.

- Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.

Preferred:

- Experience taking a product from 0 - 1 and then scaling 1 - 100 in a startup.

- Comfortable working with global, asynchronous teams.

Good to know:

- This is a high-intensity, high-ownership role expect an average 6-day working week with US-hours overlap, and 3 days/week from our Gurgaon office.
