Role Overview :

You will own the entire technology organization - Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Delivery - and be accountable for its people, architecture, reliability, and cost. You will partner closely with the founders to shape company strategy and execution. This is a player-coach role for someone who has scaled a B2B SaaS engineering organization and still wants to be hands-on in the code.

Key Responsibilities :

- Engineering Organization Leadership : Scale the technology organization from ~12 to 40+; hire and develop Engineering Managers and Tech Leads; implement performance management, hiring bars, and career ladders.

- Platform Architecture & Scale : Own the workflow orchestration engine; scale from 100M+ executions/month to 1B+ with 99.99% availability.

- AI Platform Strategy : Define technical direction for the agentic layer, RAG, model routing, and evaluation standards.

- Reliability & Operations : Define SLOs, run incident management, and own the observability stack.

- Enterprise Readiness & Security : Lead SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 initiatives and own security reviews.

- Delivery & Execution : Partner with product and leadership to convert the roadmap into a predictable delivery cadence.

- Cost & Unit Economics : Treat infrastructure and LLM spend as a P&L line item; drive gross margin improvements.

- Forward-Deployed Enterprise Engagement : Engage directly with customer CTOs to win technical evaluations and unblock production deployments.

- Hands-On Technical Leadership : Write design docs, review critical PRs, build features end-to-end, and own the deployment path.

What We're Looking For :

- 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering organizations at B2B SaaS companies.

- Proven track record of growing an engineering org from ~10 to 50+.

- Experience operating at a stage beyond our current scale : senior-most engineering leader during a journey from low single-digit millions to $20M+ ARR.

- Strong distributed systems background : built or operated multi-tenant platforms handling 1B+ events/executions per month.

- Genuine ML depth : experience training or fine-tuning models and designing evaluation frameworks.

- Hands-on experience productionizing agentic systems and RAG.

- Led a company through SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001.

- Proven hiring record : built interview loops, hiring bars, and career ladders.

- Still deeply technical : in the last 12 months, shipped at least one production feature end-to-end, deployed it personally, and been on-call for it.

- Excellent communication with founders, boards, and customer CTOs.

- Bonus : Experience with WhatsApp Business Platform, CPaaS, CRM, marketing automation, or voice AI.
