Role Overview :

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager - Fullstack to lead a team of 4 - 6 engineers across our core AI SaaS platform and real-time Voice AI architecture. This is a true working manager role split across 40% Technical Leadership, 30% People Management, and 30% Direct Hands-on Code (spikes, tricky integrations, and unblocking critical path problems).

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) :

1. Engineering Execution & Delivery :

- Sprint Ownership: Own delivery across two product surfaces (SaaS and Voice AI). Sequence work, remove engineering blockers, and ship features predictably without burning out the team.

- Operating Rhythm: Define sprint planning, retrospectives, release cadences, and post-incident reviews as scaling mechanisms.

- CTO Partnership: Translate business and product roadmaps into execution plans while communicating engineering trade-offs clearly.

2. Technical Leadership & Architecture :

- System Design & Quality: Drive architecture reviews, set quality standards, define testing/observability guidelines, and elevate the overall engineering bar.

- Hands-on Coding: Write production code on high-impact/sharp technical problems, prototypes, and unblocking complex technical debt.

3. People Leadership & Team Growth :

- Mentorship & 1:1s: Run regular 1:1s, provide actionable feedback, define growth trajectories, and mentor engineers into future technical leads.

- Hiring & Calibration: Drive engineering recruitment, candidate interviews, and talent retention.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience: 5 - 8 years of total software engineering experience, with at least 1 - 2 years in a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager capacity.

- Core Tech Stack: Strong hands-on depth in at least two of Node.js, Python, or React (with reading/review competency in the third).

- System Judgment: Deep understanding of distributed system architecture, load-bearing assumptions, and failure modes in high-concurrency applications.

- People Management: Direct experience conducting 1:1s, handling performance reviews, and managing sprint deliveries.

Good to Have :

- Real-time / Voice AI Systems: Working knowledge of WebRTC, audio streaming pipelines, or LLM / ASR / TTS integrations.

- Programming Languages: Proficiency or working knowledge of Go.

- Startup Exposure: Early-stage startup experience as a Founding Engineer, Tech Lead, or first-time EM.

- Operational Excellence: Hands-on experience establishing production observability, on-call schedules, and incident post-mortems
