About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Engineering Manager to lead high-performing engineering teams and drive the delivery of scalable, enterprise-grade software solutions. This role combines technical leadership, people management, architecture ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.

As an Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in building engineering culture, mentoring developers, driving execution excellence, and contributing to strategic technology decisions. The ideal candidate has strong backend engineering expertise in Java-based ecosystems, experience managing teams, and a passion for building reliable, cloud-native platforms.

Exposure to emerging AI engineering practices, including GenAI tools and Agentic AI systems, will be considered a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and mentor a team of 510 software engineers across one or more product areas.

- Own end-to-end delivery of large-scale, high-impact engineering initiatives.

- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to define and execute product roadmaps.

- Drive engineering excellence through architecture reviews, code reviews, best practices, and process improvements.

- Participate in hands-on development and technical problem-solving when required.

- Design and guide scalable distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native applications.

- Ensure software quality, system reliability, performance optimization, and timely delivery.

- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, career development discussions, and team engagement initiatives.

- Support hiring, onboarding, and scaling of engineering teams.

- Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks, operational risks, and production issues.

- Drive Agile delivery processes, CI/CD adoption, and DevOps best practices.

- Evaluate and enable adoption of AI-driven engineering productivity tools and Agentic AI frameworks for intelligent automation.

Required Qualifications:

- 10+ years of software development experience with strong backend engineering expertise.

- Minimum 2+ years of experience managing or leading engineering teams.

- Strong experience in:

1. Java

2. Spring Boot

3. REST APIs

4. Microservices Architecture

5. Distributed Systems

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

- Good understanding of :

1. SDLC

2. Agile methodologies

3. CI/CD pipelines

4. DevOps practices

- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

- Proven ability to mentor engineers and build high-performing teams.

Preferred / Nice to Have:

- Experience in Healthcare, FinTech, or SaaS product organizations.

- Exposure to GenAI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, etc.

- Understanding of Agentic AI systems, autonomous agents, orchestration frameworks, or multi-agent architectures.

- Exposure to React or modern frontend technologies.

- Experience with:

- Experience scaling engineering teams and distributed teams.

- Familiarity with security and compliance standards such as HITRUST, SOC2, GDPR.
