Role Overview :
As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing embedded software and hardware solutions for our next-generation products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers to translate product requirements into robust and efficient embedded systems. Your work will directly impact the performance, reliability, and innovation of our products, ultimately enhancing the user experience and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop embedded software and firmware for microcontrollers and embedded processors, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define hardware requirements and specifications, ensuring seamless integration between hardware and software components.
- Implement and test communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet, enabling reliable data exchange between embedded systems and external devices.
- Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems issues, utilizing JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers to identify and resolve root causes.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals, ensuring clarity and traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
- Optimize embedded systems for power consumption, memory footprint, and real-time performance, enhancing the efficiency and responsiveness of our products.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of coding standards and best practices, promoting code quality and maintainability.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and debug embedded software and firmware using C/C++ programming languages.
- Proven expertise in working with microcontrollers and embedded processors from vendors such as ARM, STM, and Microchip.
- Strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) concepts and experience with RTOS implementations such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Adaptability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site collaboration with remote work as needed.
