PURPOSE OF THE JOB :

Works with the Global Engineering teams to design and implementation of embedded software for company products and the development of software tools using C and Embedded Automotive applications used to develop further products. Develops and implements new software programs and/or processes; performs technical work for existing processes and systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

Software Design. Responsible for the SW design and development process, to include benchmarking of competitive products as applicable working with the Product Development team in the US. Responsibilities include all aspects of software engineering lifecycle: requirements analysis, high level design, low level design, coding, unit level tests, integration and integration tests, requirements level testing, and clear documentation.

Technical Competencies - specifically related to this position

Software: Understanding of software engineering practices, principles, processes and systems; lighting and motor control techniques and solutions, position sensing techniques, and solenoids/actuators. Knowledge of Automotive

Vehicle Networks. Very strong background in C programming language.

Additionally :

- Vector CAN drivers and tools, LIN, J1850, J1939 and J1950.

- Experience with an off the shelf RTOS (Kernel, Timed Tasks, Round Robbins) is a plus.

- Should have CMM level 3 or higher experience with knowledge of implementing CMM standards and processes

- Development of Software design documents & development of unit and Integration test procedures

- Development of traceability matrix - Experience working with version control tools (PVCS, Visual Sourcesafe,

- etc.)

- CANalyzer & CANOE programming with CAPL as well as other serial tools.

- Labview programming experience is a plus

- Knowledge of automotive software design standards and guidelines (MISRA, ANSI C, etc.).

- Electronics Hardware: Knowledge of CPUs, DSPs, Flash/ROM/RAM and other chips that are used in embedded control systems and with 8/16/32 bit micro controllers (ST, NEC, Infineon, Microchip, etc) and digital/analog interface Circuitry.

- Software modeling & analysis: Matlab/Simulink, Reliability Prediction. Experience with PC Lint or other equivalent

- SW Analysis Tools are required.

- Fact Based Problem Solving: Understands and practices the process of fact based problem solving and the tools (4M's, Y Tree, Is/Is Not, 5 Whys) associated with that process

- Computer Skills: Extensive understanding of software compilers, SW configuration tools, spreadsheets, and word processing are required

- Project Management: Defines objectives; develops plans that are comprehensive, realistic, and effective in meeting goals; develops contingency plans; provides clear direction; monitors progress; follows up to ensure objectives are met; keeps others informed.

- Strong Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to work with peers in a positive, cooperative way and maintain productive relationships with key functional areas.
