We are seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to write the highly deterministic, bulletproof code that powers our SIL-2 and ATEX Zone 0 gas detectors.
You will be responsible for separating life-safety gas detection loops from secondary functions like cloud connectivity, ensuring that our devices fail safely and operate with absolute reliability under IEC 61508 standards.
Core Responsibilities :
Core Safety Loops :
- Write the embedded C/C++ firmware that manages primary gas monitoring, alarm triggers, and man-down motion alerts with zero latency or interruption.
Diagnostic Implementation :
- Program the software diagnostics required by IEC 61508-3, including continuous RAM/ROM checks, watchdog timers, and fail-safe state triggers.
Modular Integration :
- Seamlessly integrate drivers for the NevadaNano MPS sensors, custom FSTN displays, and 5G eSIM cloud alarm functions without compromising the primary safety loop.
Code Compliance :
- Strictly adhere to MISRA C coding guidelines and participate in rigorous peer reviews and static/dynamic code analysis.
Documentation :
- Generate software architecture documentation and test reports required for the certification dossier (Material Construction File).
Required Qualifications & Experience :
- 1. Experience : Minimum 7 years of embedded software engineering experience in a safety-critical environment (e.g., SIL-2/SIL-3 industrial, ISO 26262 automotive, or medical devices).
- 2. Programming Mastery : Expert-level proficiency in Embedded C/C++ and bare-metal programming.
- 3. RTOS Expertise : Deep experience implementing and managing Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) to handle concurrent critical and non-critical tasks.
- 4. Standards : Familiarity with IEC 61508-3 (Software Requirements) and strict adherence to MISRA C standards.
