We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Embedded Firmware Engineer with 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems and IoT product development. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, debugging, and optimizing firmware solutions for next-generation connected devices and embedded platforms.
This role requires strong expertise in embedded C/C++, microcontroller-based development, communication protocols, RTOS, and hardware-software integration. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineering, cloud engineering, mobile/web application teams, QA, and product management to build reliable and scalable IoT products.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, test, and maintain firmware for embedded and IoT-based products.
- Develop low-level drivers, middleware, communication stacks, and device interfaces for embedded platforms.
- Work extensively on microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex, STM32, ESP32, PIC, or similar embedded chipsets.
- Implement and optimize communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, MQTT, TCP/IP, BLE, and Wi-Fi.
- Integrate embedded firmware with cloud platforms, mobile applications, and web-based monitoring systems.
- Troubleshoot firmware and hardware integration issues during product development and production stages.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers during board bring-up, prototype validation, and debugging activities.
- Optimize firmware for performance, memory utilization, low power consumption, and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, firmware testing, and release management activities.
- Support OTA firmware upgrade implementation and field deployment processes.
- Work closely with QA and validation teams to ensure product stability and compliance.
Required Skills :
- Strong programming expertise in Embedded C and C++.
- Solid experience with RTOS concepts and implementation (FreeRTOS or similar).
- Hands-on experience with embedded debugging tools such as JTAG, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, and Serial Debugging tools.
- Strong understanding of embedded system architecture and firmware lifecycle.
- Experience working with IoT products and connected device ecosystems.
- Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or similar cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of OTA firmware update mechanisms.
- Understanding of hardware schematics, PCB design concepts, and hardware interfaces.
- Experience in low-power firmware optimization techniques.
- Exposure to secure firmware development and device authentication mechanisms is an added advantage.
Education : B.Tech / B.E / M.Tech in Electronics, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
