Job Description :
We are looking for an experienced Database Engineer with strong expertise in PostgreSQL, Snowflake, data warehousing, and Python.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing production databases, optimizing query performance, implementing Row-Level Security (RLS), and developing reliable database migration processes.
The role involves working with cloud-based database environments, supporting data engineering initiatives, and ensuring database performance, scalability, security, and data isolation in enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade PostgreSQL databases and data warehouse solutions.
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), database partitioning, and secure data access mechanisms.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Design and manage Snowflake data models, optimize query performance, and control warehouse costs.
- Develop Python-based database integrations and automation using libraries such as asyncpg.
- Manage database schema changes and migrations using Alembic and SQL-based migration scripts without relying on ORM-generated SQL.
- Work with AWS cloud services and support database workloads in Kubernetes-based environments such as EKS.
- Collaborate with teams using ArgoCD and CI/CD workflows to deploy and manage database changes.
- Follow best practices for clean, maintainable, and reviewable code and database migrations.
- Ensure data security, integrity, availability, and consistency across database systems.
Required Skills :
- Strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL in production environments.
- Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS), partitioning, query tuning, and SQL-based database migrations.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, performance optimization, and cost management.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering and data warehousing concepts.
- Proficiency in Python, including database integration using asyncpg.
- Experience with Alembic for database schema migrations.
- Basic understanding of cloud databases and database deployment practices.
- Familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes environments, particularly EKS.
- Exposure to ArgoCD and Git-based deployment workflows.
- Ability to implement small, maintainable, and reviewable database changes.
