Job Summary :
We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist with a strong background in Chemistry or hands-on experience in the Chemical Manufacturing/Process Industry. The ideal candidate will leverage data analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling to solve complex business and process-related problems in chemical operations, R&D, manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze large-scale chemical, process, laboratory, and manufacturing datasets to derive actionable insights.
- Develop predictive and prescriptive analytics models for process optimization, yield improvement, and quality enhancement.
- Work closely with R&D, production, quality assurance, and process engineering teams to understand business requirements.
- Build machine learning models for forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and process monitoring.
- Perform statistical analysis on chemical experiments, formulations, and production data.
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and reports for operational and management teams.
- Support digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives within chemical manufacturing environments.
- Integrate data from multiple systems including ERP, MES, LIMS, and IoT devices.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Data Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or Machine Learning roles.
- Strong domain knowledge or work experience in the Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Specialty Chemicals, or Manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar analytical tools.
- Experience with machine learning libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Matplotlib.
- Knowledge of process data analysis and industrial datasets.
- Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with process optimization and simulation tools.
- Exposure to AI applications in chemistry or materials science.
- Understanding of laboratory data systems (LIMS) and manufacturing systems.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience working with time-series and sensor data.
