Purpose :

The Data Science function within TEO Data and Analytics exists to develop and deliver best in class data science driven initiatives and outcomes for our customers and colleagues.

The Senior Consultant, Data Science is a technical leader within the function, with accountability for driving high-value outcomes for Enterprise Property and Strategic Sourcing through the timely and practical application of statistical modelling and ML algorithms to solve complex business problems.

The incumbent will engage with senior business stakeholders to translate their most pressing issues into scientific problem statements and lead their team to design and develop the end-to-end solution, while generating and communicating insights back to the business throughout the process.

Provide regular and on-going leadership/mentorship to the broader team.

Experience :

- Applied predictive and financial modelling

- End-to-end delivery of business-focussed data science initiatives

- Analytical problem framing including requirements gathering and solution design

- Engineering and ETL experience including database modelling, data sourcing, cleansing and joining (SQL, Redshift, Spark)

- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with development and deployment of Machine Learning algorithms (supervised and unsupervised) in either Python or R (both preferred)

- Visualisation and communication of analytical outcomes and insights (PowerBI)

- Knowledge and experience in Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management is helpful but not essential

Qualification Requirements :

- Tertiary qualification in relevant field (Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering etc)

- Post-graduate qualification of fields mentioned above are highly preferred.
