Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Data Privacy Specialist to lead enterprise data privacy, governance, and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in global privacy regulations, privacy-by-design principles, data governance, and technical implementation of privacy controls across enterprise applications and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise data privacy policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with global privacy regulations, including DPDP, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable data protection laws.
- Partner with business, legal, security, and engineering teams to embed privacy-by-design principles across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and privacy risk assessments.
- Design and implement technical privacy controls, including encryption, data masking, access controls, consent management, and data retention policies.
- Lead enterprise data discovery, classification, data mapping, data segregation, and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Evaluate and implement privacy technologies, governance tools, and consent management platforms.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate privacy controls into APIs, applications, and cloud platforms.
- Support internal audits, regulatory assessments, and compliance reviews while driving remediation activities.
- Develop privacy policies, awareness programs, and training for business and technology teams.
- Monitor regulatory changes and recommend updates to organizational privacy practices and controls.
Required Skills:
- 10-15 years of experience in Data Privacy, Information Security, Data Governance, or GRC.
- Strong knowledge of DPDP, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other global data protection regulations.
- Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and privacy-by-design principles.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or SQL, with experience in API integrations.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Hands-on experience with encryption technologies, access control mechanisms, and data protection solutions.
- Experience implementing data governance capabilities, including data discovery, data classification, data mapping, retention and archival, consent management, and cookie consent solutions.
- Experience with GRC platforms, risk management, compliance monitoring, and internal audits.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication, and project management skills.
