We are looking for a Data Governance Lead with a minimum of 7 years of experience in data management or engineering, including at least 3 years of focused, hands-on experience in Microsoft Purview. The ideal candidate will have led the end-to-end implementation of enterprise data governance frameworks, aligning data strategies with business goals and regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX).

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain enterprise data governance strategies, policies, and standards aligned with business goals.

- Manage Microsoft Purview accounts, collections, and RBAC; optimize for large-scale environments (50TB+).

- Design metadata repositories and maintain business glossaries and data dictionaries.

- Implement ingestion workflows via ADF, REST APIs, PowerShell, Azure Functions.

- Define classification rules and sensitivity labels (PII, PCI, PHI); integrate with MIP, DLP, Insider Risk Management.

- Define KPIs and dashboards to monitor data quality across domains.

- Maintain business glossary with domain owners and stewards; enforce approval workflows.

- Automate governance processes using PowerShell, Azure Functions, Logic Apps.

- Set up dashboards for audit logs, compliance reporting, and metadata coverage.

- Collaborate across business, IT, legal, and compliance teams for role alignment.

Technical expertise must include :

- Deep proficiency in Microsoft Purview (Data Map, Catalog, RBAC, DLP, eDiscovery, and lifecycle management) at scale (50TB+).

- Strong command of metadata management, data lineage (ADF, Synapse, Power BI), and security governance.

- Experience automating workflows using PowerShell, Azure Functions, and REST APIs within an Azure data stack (Data Lake, Snowflake).

- Proven ability to manage business glossaries, stewardship, and data quality KPIs.

- Candidates should possess a B.Tech degree and have a background in B2B tech, software, or consulting.

- Strong communication skills are essential to bridge the gap between technical teams, legal, and business stakeholders. Experience with alternative governance tools like Collibra, Informatica Axon, or Atlan is a plus.
