Role: Data Governance Consultant
Desired Experience Range: 7+ years (with at least 5 years in consulting/advisory/practice/pre-sales in data management/data governance)
Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency):
Must-Have:
- Demonstrated thought leadership in Data Governance and Data Management
- BFSI domain knowledge
- Strong articulation, strategic thinking, leadership traits, business acumen, customer focus, and team player attitude
- Experience with new-age product vendors and evolving trends in Data Governance and Management
- Architecting and implementing Data Governance solutions using leading DG platforms (Collibra, Informatica EDC/AXON/IDMC, IBM IGC, Alation, or custom solutions)
- AI adoption/enablement in data governance and management
- Building interfaces to integrate data from diverse sources
- Data observability and augmented capabilities
- Technical expertise in data architecture principles, ETL, and reporting concepts
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience with SDLC and Agile project execution
- Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Developing points of view, approaches, and pitches for new opportunities
- Participation in solutioning/responding to RFIs and RFPs
- Public speaking and event participation on Data Governance topics
Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role:
- Engage with clients, analysts, and industry bodies to evangelize and build thought leadership and brand value
- Work with stakeholders from business units, data & analytics teams, technical partners, and third parties to architect and improve data governance programs and processes (data quality, metadata management, data lineage, data security)
- Define metadata ingestion and integration methodologies with other systems
- Ensure requirements are defined, documented, and translated into effective and consistent processes for data governance platforms (Collibra, Informatica EDC/AXON, Alation, IBM IGC, etc.)
- Provide advisory/consulting services for implementing enterprise-wide data governance solutions
- Engage with global clients (especially in Banking and Financial Services) to understand business needs, identify opportunities, and propose data governance solutions for business value, operational efficiency, customer experience, and regulatory compliance
- Develop and deliver points of view, approaches, and pitches for new opportunities
- Participate in internal and external events, including public speaking on Data Governance and Management
- Active involvement in solutioning and responding to RFIs and RFPs
- Responsible for both SDLC and Agile project execution methods
- Engage with customer data & analytics teams, system owners, and business users to ensure requirements are implemented effectively in data governance platforms
