Snowflake Data Engineer
Role Summary :
We are seeking a Snowflake Data Engineer to build, optimize, and maintain modern cloud data pipelines on Snowflake. This is a hands-on, build-focused role to deliver production-grade ingestion, transformation, and AI-enabled data products.
You will write and optimize the code, tests, and pipelines that turn raw source data into reliable, well-modeled, consumption-ready datasets.
The ideal candidate is hands-on across the modern Snowflake ecosystem: Fivetran for ingestion, dbt for transformation and modeling, Snowflake Cortex for AI and LLM-driven features, and Snowflake's native streaming capabilities for real-time data movement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Build and maintain end-to-end ELT pipelines on Snowflake, from ingestion through transformation to consumption-ready datasets.
- Implement data models that conform to established standards (e.g., medallion / layered architectures, dimensional and/or Data Vault patterns).
- Develop managed ingestion using Fivetran (connector setup, configuration, and monitoring) and transformation logic using dbt (models, tests, macros, documentation).
- Build real-time and near-real-time data flows using Snowflake streaming capabilities, including Snowpipe Streaming, Streams (change data capture), and Dynamic Tables.
- Implement AI-enabled features using Snowflake Cortex Cortex LLM functions, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, and document/text processing workflows.
- Write performant, maintainable SQL and tune queries, warehouses, and pipelines for cost and performance.
- Implement data quality testing, monitoring, alerting, and documentation across pipelines.
- Apply security and governance controls in implementation: role-based access, masking and row-level policies, and secure data sharing.
- Follow Git-based version control and CI/CD practices for deploying across dev/test/prod environments.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver against requirements and troubleshoot issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven hands-on experience building and maintaining production data pipelines on Snowflake.
- SnowPro Core Certification (required).
- Hands-on, production-level experience with dbt (modeling, testing, macros, project structure, and deployment).
- Hands-on experience with Fivetran for managed data ingestion and connector management.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake data streaming including Snowpipe Streaming, Streams (CDC), and/or Dynamic Tables for real-time and near-real-time pipelines.
- Working experience with Snowflake Cortex (Cortex AI / LLM functions, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, or comparable Cortex capabilities).
- Strong SQL skills and solid data modeling fundamentals.
- Understanding of Snowflake performance tuning, cost awareness, and security/access control basics.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD for data pipelines.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and analytics teams.
Preferred Qualifications :
- SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer Certification (strongly preferred).
- Experience with Python and/or Snowpark for data engineering workloads.
- Familiarity integrating Snowflake with Salesforce.
- Experience with orchestration tooling and metadata-driven pipeline frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and their integration points with Snowflake.
- Experience operating in a consulting or client-facing environment.
- Exposure to broader AI/ML or RAG patterns built on top of Snowflake data.
- Experience implementing data quality, lineage, and observability tooling.
