The Data & Analytics organization is at the forefront of developing and maintaining frameworks, tools, and data products vital to WBD, including flagship streaming product Max and non-streaming products such as Films Group, Sports, News and overall WBD eco-system. Our mission is to foster unified analytics and drive data-driven use cases by leveraging a robust multi-tenant platform and semantic layer.

Data Engineer II :


- 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering with strong expertise in Python/Scala/Java and SQL for building scalable data applications.


- Hands-on experience in developing batch and real-time data pipelines using Spark/PySpark, distributed processing frameworks, and event-driven architectures.


- Strong experience with AWS cloud services and Databricks, including S3, EMR, Glue, Delta Lake, and cloud-based data lake/lakehouse platforms.


- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and big data architecture for large-scale analytics systems.


- Experience working with streaming technologies such as Kafka/Kinesis and building high-performance data ingestion and processing solutions.


- Exposure to modern AI/ML-driven data engineering use cases including embeddings, vector search, inference pipelines, RAG, and intelligent data enrichment workflows.


- Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, API development, automation frameworks, monitoring, observability, and production support environments.


- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder collaboration skills with the ability to optimize cloud cost, improve platform reliability, and support 24x7 data operations.


What To Bring :


- Masters or Bachelors degree in computer science or similar discipline


- 3-5 years of experience in software engineering and/or data engineering


- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and apply them at work to stay ahead of the curve.


- Proficient in at least a few programming languages Python/ Scala/Java and SQL


- Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL best practices, and big data architecture.


- Practical knowledge with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions Workflows.


- Databricks & Cloud (AWS) experience is preferred


- Experience building solutions with one or more of the following AI/ML concepts : classification/inference/embedding models, agents, RAG, vector search is a plus.


- Excellent verbal and written communication skills


- Strong critical/analytical thinking and problem-solving skills


- Must be a self-starter.
