About the Role :
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Data Modeling to design and maintain enterprise data models supporting analytics and reporting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in dimensional data modeling, SQL, business requirement gathering, and data analysis, along with exposure to modern cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and maintain Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models (CDM, LDM, and PDM) based on business requirements.
- Develop dimensional data models using Star and Snowflake schemas for enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Perform data analysis, profiling, and business requirement gathering to identify entities, relationships, facts, and dimensions.
- Prepare Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents, including transformation logic and business rules.
- Define data grain, KPIs, measures, hierarchies, and Slowly Changing Dimension (SCD) strategies.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to ensure accurate implementation of data models.
- Support enterprise data warehouse design across Bronze, Silver, Conformed, and Gold layers.
- Implement data quality validation and reconciliation rules.
- Contribute to metadata management, data cataloging, business glossary, data dictionaries, lineage, and technical documentation.
- Perform impact analysis for source system and data model changes.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise data modeling standards and best practices.
Required Skills :
- Strong experience in Dimensional Data Modeling.
- Expertise in SQL and Data Analysis.
- Experience gathering and translating business requirements into technical data models.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Good to Have :
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Domain knowledge in Supply Chain or Finance.
- Exposure to enterprise data governance and metadata management.
