Senior Data Engineer

Role Description:

As a Data Engineer you will work independently or with a team of data engineers on cloud technology products and projects. Work with all customers, both internal and external, to design and implement features. We collaborate with other technical teams across the organization as required to deliver proposed solutions. You will also be responsible for collaborating with tech leads, architects and managers.

Detailed Description:

- Works with Scrum masters, product owners, and others to identify new features for digital products.

- Takes responsibility of the maintenance and security of existing solutions, platforms and frameworks, designing new ones and recommending relevant upgrades and features.

- Troubleshoots production issues of all levels and severities, and tracks progress from identification through resolution.

- Maintains culture of open communication, collaboration, mutual respect and productive behaviour.

- Identifies risks, barriers, efficiencies and opportunities given thinking through development approaches, processes and tools.

- Explores all technical options when selecting solutions, including homegrown coding, third-party sub-contracting, enterprise platforms, and existing technology components.

- Actively participate in collaborative effort through all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, release, and customer technical support.

- Develops technical documentation, such as system configuration diagrams, design documents, release procedures, and other pertinent artifacts.

- Collaborates accordingly while working on cross-functional projects or production issues.

Experience:

Education:

- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

Skills Requirements:

- Strong working knowledge of Databricks, Azure.

- Expertise working with cloud platforms and SQL.

- Strong working knowledge of code management and continuous integration systems (Azure DevOps or Github).

Preferred:

- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.

- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (such as MongoDB) preferred.

- An experience in IoT Data Standards like Project Haystack, Brick Schema, Real Estate Core is an added advantage.

- Ability to multi-task and improvise in a dynamic environment.
