Role : Data Architect (30 - 60 Lakhs Per Annum)
About The Team :
The Data Platform team at NextDimension builds and maintains the governed data foundations that power our clients' go-to-market, commercial, and operational reporting. The team partners closely with client stakeholders, their internal platform and governance functions, business analysts, and cross-functional teams across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and IT. Our work ensures that commercial data - CRM, point-of-sale, retailer, and inventory - is accurate, consistent, secure, and actionable across every region a client operates in.
About The Role :
As a Data Architect, you will define and lead the architecture for a governed commercial data platform on Microsoft Fabric for a multi-region enterprise client.
You will lead the build of a landing zone spanning multiple CRM instances, point-of-sale, retailer portal, and inventory sources - from ingestion through conformed modeling, certified semantic models, and governance handover. You will design the medallion architecture, establish system-of-record boundaries with the client's existing ERP/EDW systems, and lead data-quality and governance initiatives across customer, product, and geography dimensions.
We're looking for people who combine strong technical expertise in enterprise data architecture with hands-on experience delivering complex Fabric or lakehouse environments. You should be comfortable working across architecture, data modeling, integration design, governance, and client leadership.
In This Role You Will :
- Define the target-state Fabric architecture for a governed commercial workspace, covering OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, and a bronze, silver, gold medallion model.
- Assess Fabric capacity and workspace readiness, and recommend a workspace topology aligned to business domains, with regional access controls.
- Design canonical data models, conformed dimensions (customer, product, geography, currency, calendar), and system-of-record definitions across CRM, POS, retailer, and inventory sources.
- Lead the ingestion architecture for multiple CRM (Salesforce) instances and other commercial sources, including incremental/CDC load design.
- Establish the access pattern for consuming existing governed master data read-only, without touching upstream ERP/EDW scope.
- Define standards for field definitions, ownership, lineage, retention, and access controls (row-level security by region).
- Design the certified semantic model layer in Power BI, choosing Direct Lake, Import, or composite storage.
- Implement monitoring for data quality, completeness, freshness, and integration failures.
- Partner with the client's internal platform/governance team on capacity provisioning, promotion-to-production gates, and standards alignment.
- Produce architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, integration specifications, and governance documentation.
- Provide technical leadership to the engineering team and guide complex data-architecture decisions.
- Lead client workshops, steering updates, and the technical interview process for staffing approval.
You Might Thrive In This Role If You :
- Have deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, data engineering, or a related technical discipline, with hands-on Microsoft Fabric (or Synapse/Databricks) experience.
- Have strong experience with Salesforce data architecture and CRM data models (leads, contacts, accounts, opportunities).
- Have successfully designed or migrated large, multi-source, multi-region commercial or CRM datasets.
- Understand master data management, conformed dimensional modeling, metadata management, lineage, and governance.
- Have advanced SQL and hands-on Power BI semantic modeling, DAX, and RLS design.
- Understand lakehouse architectures, cloud data warehouses, APIs, and data pipeline/integration platforms.
- Have experience defining data-quality rules, reconciliation processes, and measurable service levels.
- Can translate ambiguous business requirements into a scalable, phased delivery plan.
- Have experience integrating POS, retailer/EDI, or inventory data alongside CRM data.
- Have led cross-functional data modernization or platform-build programs, ideally in a client-facing context.
- Communicate complex technical trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Have experience in regulated or multi-region enterprise environments - consumer health, wellness, or CPG a plus, not required.
