Role Overview :
You will work alongside data analysts and report directly to the Delivery Squad Product Lead. To succeed in this role, you should know how to understand and document 'As-Is' data warehouse and examine new data system requirements and implement migration models.
Duties :
- Report into the Delivery Squad Product Lead.
- Design and implement effective datawarehouse solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
- Examine and identify datawarehouse structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming.
- Assess datawarehouse implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
- Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
- Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing datawarehouse systems.
- Lead the data analysts in understanding 'As-is' data pipelines and databases, data warehouses at the entity and attribute levels.
- Analyse and document the data lineage of data from source to target of 'As-Is' data environments.
- Work with key data architects and lead a data analysts' team in defining the 'To-Be' data architecture.
- Implement best practices in processing confidential and personal data and information according to guidelines.
- Leading a Data Analysts team in evaluating data pipelines, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement.
- Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
- Leading on identifying data requirements analysis.
- Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts.
- Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
- Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.
- Working closely with clients, client data architects, and management.
- Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior data analysts and architects.
- Inputting into projects plans, risks and dependencies logs.
- Prioritising initiatives based on data requirements needs and requirements.
- Managing competing resources and priorities.
- Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of your work.
- Educate staff members through training and individual support.
- Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
Experience :
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture or a related field.
- Practical AWS (primarily) or other public cloud data engineering experience (Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to Data Vault principles.
- Application of data governance (data lineage, data quality, cataloguing, etc).
- Practical Knowledge of Snowflake (primarily), BigQuery, CosmosDB, databricks, Redshift.
- Knowledge of ELT/ETL and data streaming engineering with relevant technologies (i.e. Kafka, dbt).
- Evidential experience of data analysis and data modelling.
- Extensive practical SQL experience.
- Strong knowledge of datawarehouse structures.
- Understanding of metadata standards.
- Practical experience of data modelling standards.
- Ability to work with technical stakeholders to assess potential risks.
- Ability to analyse existing tools and data platforms and provide recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience in working with large data sets and relational databases.
- The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience in Confluence and Jira.
- Retail or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience.
- Has experience of working in Product led and Agile workstreams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
